The first R/C Monster Truck, Traxxas Tmaxx
Traxxas hit something HUGE when they made the Traxxas T-maxx. The Traxxas TMaxx is the truck that started the R/C monster truck frenzy years ago. Other companies have tried to replicate the success of the Traxxas Tmaxx however the T-maxx still stands as the best selling rc monster truck in history.
Traxxas T-Maxx .15 Engine
The Traxxas Tmaxx was powered by a TRX Pro.15, this engine is an incredibly rugged and long-lasting powerhouse, with its strict quality control, ABC (aluminum, brass, chrome) construction the TRX Pro.15 has 20% larger displacement than a standard .12 engine. The TRX Pro .15 includes a grooved oil-ring piston for long life, an aluminum cooling head, ball bearings, finned aluminum backplate, and a channeled-beam connecting rod which improves oil flow. The carburetor on the TRX .15 pro is all new, with a larger 6mm intake and reuseable low-restriction foam air cleaners. Double O-ring seals on both the high and low-speed needles eliminate power-robbing air leaks. While the TRX .15 was an improvement over .12 engines, most Tmaxx owners upgraded their engine to bigger engines.
Traxxas Tmaxx transmission
The Traxxas T-maxx transmission features 2-speeds forward and 2-speeds reverse with a speed-sensitive reverse lockout. It provides racing-truck acceleration in low gear and 40+mph top speeds in high gear. Shifting is hard, fast, and automatic with an adjustable shift point! Just push a button on the TQ-3 transmitter to shift into reverse. Only the patented Traxxas T-Maxx design allows full proportional control of throttle and braking, along with 2-speed shifting, in both forward and reverse gears.
Traxxas T-Maxx Suspension
The Tmaxx suspension featured long travel and nearly 4 inches at each wheel. The Tmaxx is ready to take on just about the roughest terrain you can imagine. Eight oil-filled shocks (2 at each wheel) deliver that plush feel and 'bottomless' suspension travel.
